The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Weimar Republic, Gustav Stresemann (1878 - 1929), was awarded, along with Aristide Briand, the Nobel Peace Prize in 1926 for his work of reconciliation between nations after the First World War. In addition to his impressive political career, Stresemann was also known for designing a new type of costume that was formal enough to be worn during official performances but also comfortable for office work. Stresemann liked to wear costumes with fine stripes until a legend ... Suddenly, the striped pens of Pelikan - which were their first world success at the time - were popularly nicknamed "Stresemann".
To this day, both the costume and the pen continue to bear this name. To honour this legend, Pelikan named this new asset of the standard collection, the "Stresemann" with its elegant Anthracite stripes.
The body of this pen with its simple anthracite features is made of cellulose acetate using a traditional process that requires a lot of work. The black elements are made of high-quality polished resin. The clip and rings are plated with palladium. Each writing instrument is hand-assembled and controlled.
