About Jacques Herbin

Founded in Paris in 1670, the House of Herbin is the oldest ink manufacturer in the world. For over 350 years, its name has been synonymous with exceptional quality and French know-how. As a supplier to King Louis XIV and other great names in history, Jacques Herbin continues to inspire writing and calligraphy enthusiasts today.

Guardian of Tradition and Color

The heart of Herbin's craft is ink. Each color is formulated in Paris and inspired by rich history and travels. The range extends from the most classic inks for everyday writing to the most extraordinary collections:

  • The "Perle des Encres" Inks: A palette of 40 intense colors, ideal for daily use in a fountain pen.
  • The 1670 Collection: Created to celebrate the year the house was founded, each ink in this collection is saturated with pigments and enhanced with gold or silver flecks, offering a spectacular sheen.
  • The 1798 Collection: Commemorating another key date, this collection is distinguished by its silver shimmer for a sparkle of great elegance.
