Combining urushi lacquer finish with the popular 1911 Full-Size body, the pens in the Rei Urushi-nuri series will be a favorite for many pen aficionados. The Tsugaru-nuri technique used on this specific pen has a history stretching back to the Edo period and was specifically created in part to allow for urushi lacquer to cure in the colder weather of Aomori Prefecture. Each pen is individually hand-finished by the artist, and no two pens will ever be exactly alike.

All the nibs of the 1911 Full-Size (Large) are made of 21 carat gold, which gives them a very smooth feel on paper. The 21 carat gold, but also the polishing of the tip of the nib in iridium which protects the gold, make this nib an exceptional piece in the world of gold nibs.
