The 1911 Large Simply Black fountain pen is the perfect example how "less is more" can make a bold statement. The pen is made of acrylics and has a traditional design, but does not have the usual cap rings, giving the pen a sobre and cleaner look. 

The pen uses the cartridge/converter filling system and has Sailor's famous 21 kt gold nib.

All the nibs of the 1911 Full-Size (Large) are made of 21 carat gold, which gives them a very smooth feel on paper. The 21 carat gold, but also the polishing of the tip of the nib in iridium which protects the gold, make this nib an exceptional piece in the world of gold nibs.
