Sailor 1911 King of Pens Ebonite Naginata-Togi Fountain Pen
The King of Pens (KOP) is introduced as the top of the range, developed as the symbol of Sailor’s technology, quality and writing perfection gained with the experience of over 100 years.
This fountain pen is equipped with a Naginata Togi nib created by the great master Nobuyoshi Nagahara (literally in Japanese "Saber nibs"). The Naginata nib, unlike a standard nib, has a larger iridium part with a refined inclined profile shape, similar to a sword blade, very supple.
This nib is unique in the world! The Japanese culture of brush calligraphy, associated with the art of metalwork and gold work, gives here a wonderful hybrid application between the world of the fountain pen and that of the brush, so special is the feeling of writing. These nibs are entirely handmade by Mr. Nagahara.

The King of Pens (KOP) is introduced as the top of the range, developed as the symbol of Sailor’s technology, quality and writing perfection gained with the experience of over 100 years. Special attention has been given to the oversized 21K solid gold nib (the life and soul of the fountain pen), which provides top writing quality.

All the nibs of the King of Pens are made of 21 carat gold, which gives them a very smooth feel on paper. The 21 carat gold, but also the polishing of the tip of the nib in iridium which protects the gold, make this large nib an exceptional piece in the world of gold nibs. In this size of large gold nibs for large pens, the fine size and sizes below do not exist: the length of the nib would make a FINE (or even extra-fine) nib too fragile.
In general, Japanese nib sizes are always narrower than European standards.
