Kamio Japan Inc. was established in 1987. At first, they ran the "Fancy Variety Shop" and thought that they could improve their customer's satisfaction if they could provide enough products in time and based on their needs. Taking advantage of the retail experience through Fancy goods, they launched a company with the aim to produce their own products.

As for the company's name: Kamio Japan, it is a word created to express the founders' fond wish. "KAMI" means "paper" and "O" means "King" in Japanese. They are deeply convinced that writing is a powerful means of communication tool and also that no matter how science and technology have developed paper remains important. "Kamio Japan": the creators wish is that this company may become the King of paper in Japan.

How era even changed, Kamio determined to cope with the change quickly and continue to be the leader in the industry. It is their aim to be a "Great Company", enrich the quality of the employees.
