Optima Flex Fountain pen - 14ct Gold Flex nib - Aurora

The Optima series is one of Aurora's bestsellers, due to its classic size and the charming design of the pens of '30s, with their truncated cylindrical shape that characterized the history of the Turin's company.

Thanks to its elegant and rigorous shape, the Optima pen is without doubt the best-selling Aurora pen since its first models in the 1930s. An emblem of special projects, its unmistakable design has now been enriched by Flex Nib, a flexible nib that allows anyone to easily achieve a thin or thick line simply by varying the pressure while writing. A "must" for calligraphy lovers and for those who like to leave a "mark" full of their personality.

The Optima Flex is a limited edition of only 330 pens of 8 different colors, all new and modern design.

The Aurora Optima Flex features a special super-flexible nib, made with 14 kt gold, one size (F/M) that will let you experience the unbeated flexibility of the vintage pens' nibs - in a brand new edition!

While not strictly being a calligraphic nib, it allows everyone to vary the stroke size with the same instrument and with extraordinary semplicity, just by applying a different pressure when writing.

Aurora

Aurora was founded in Turin in 1919.

Throughout its history the company remained strongly linked to the values that have made it an international market leader: the passion for beauty and style, along with a commitment to quality up to the refined detail.

Aurora is the only company in Italy, and among the few in the world, to produce the nib, the true heart of the pen, thus offering customers the opportunity to choose their own writing style with a view to fine tailoring, as well as creating prestigious limited and numbered editions for collectors from all around the world.

HERITAGE “MADE IN ITALY”

The Verona family, which leads the company, has been involved in writing business for more than four generations. Today Aurora is the only authentic Italian brand in the sector, with its single production plant in Turin.

The company has leaded the development of writing instruments as a historical Piedmontese factory, always maintaining the right balance between artisan craftsmanship and technology and creating unique products. Production phases managed by computerized processes come up beside other steps performed according to the traditional methods used by master goldsmiths. The choice of precious metals and materials (gold, silver, mother of pearl, rubies, etc.) makes every pen a real jewel.

THE CULT OF BEAUTY

An ongoing commitment to develop leading-edge design solutions and to establish partnerships with internationally-acclaimed designers have enabled Aurora to write important pages in the history of design.

In 1947 Marcello Nizzoli created the famous “88”; with over 7 million pieces sold, this classic writing instrument is still produced today. In 1970 Marco Zanuso designed the HASTIL and the THESI for Aurora, the first writing instruments exhibited at the MOMA in New York, currently on show alongside other symbols of Italian design.

WRITING INSTRUMENTS

The pen (fountain pen, ballpoint pen, roller ball pen, mechanical pencil) has moved on from being a sole functional writing tool, to become an elegant and refined accessory, an unmistakable sign reflecting its owner’s personality, a luxury detail in everyday life.
